Thimbles and Threads

Thimbles and Threads in Draper has a new owner! Cathie is a quilter and already had a long-arm quilting business, so she really knows what quilters want. She has a lot of plans for her new shop, so if your travels take you to the SLC area, stop by to see the shop. There will be an open house in April and I made this top as a shop sample. The pattern is from the Moda Bake Shop called "I'm Blushing" and uses a Blush jelly roll. The designer of this quilt is Natalia Bonner and I think she lives here in Utah, too.
Cathie is going to put this little quilt in the bathroom in her new shop.  It was so much fun to make. I used the wrong side of the white fabric for part of the rolls to make it look like the unprinted side of the rolls.  This was made using some of the Blush fabric line....can you tell I really like this fabric!

Very nice. I'll have to ask my daughters if they can make a visit out to the store.

My friend and I just visited with the Cathie, the new owner of Thimble and Threads, yesterday. It's always been one of my favorite shops so it's great that she's keeping it going.

That fabric is a very nice range!
Your top looks lovely. I don't know about the toilet roll hanging- it may work as a 'how to change the roll' diagram for males lol.
cheers

Bev, I haven't had a free moment to get my whimsical-with-a-touch-of-elegance tp roll wall hanging quilted, but I keep pulling it out to show everyone (every time leading to the very important question.....are you an over-the-top or a from-below roller?) It will be finished in time for our open house in April when my shop will have a restroom envied by the world!

Hi Bev,
The designer of Blush is Rachel Brenchley of Basic Grey. She lives across the street from me. Another Utah connection. I don't remember when I have loved a line of fabric more than that one.
